Scion Nonprofit Staffing, an award-winning full-service staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Vice President of Certification & Accreditation for our client, a respected organization committed to consumer protection and economic growth. This organization plays a key role in supporting state regulators as they advance systems of state financial supervision. This full-time, hybrid position is available for immediate hire in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Chief Learning Officer, the Vice President of Certification & Accreditation oversees the administration and development of the Examiner Certification Program (ECP) and Accreditation Program for state financial regulatory agencies. This role ensures that over 30 certifications validate examiner expertise in areas such as bank safety, mortgage examinations, and money services. Additionally, the Vice President manages the Accreditation & Workforce Development team's learning technologies and leads the Accreditation Program (AP), which sets standards for state supervision of banking and non-banking sectors. The role involves collaborating with a committee to update accreditation standards and coordinating reviews conducted by retired regulators.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build relationships with state banking training directors for ECP alignment and career progression.
- Lead the approval of courses for continuing education (CE) requirements.
- Align certification priorities with supervisory and licensing teams.
- Oversee certification issuance and manage the Certification Management Portal.
- Collaborate with the Performance Standards Committee (PSC) to maintain evaluation standards for state agencies.
- Manage program P&L, collaborate on business models, and oversee annual billing.
- Ensure technology solutions meet management needs for accreditation monitoring.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the PSC, using data to identify areas of concern.
- Lead the annual review schedule creation and oversee PSC policy implementation.
- Oversee the maintenance of Accreditation Program (AP) materials and the Accreditation Online System (AOS).
- Hire, develop, and manage Certification & Accreditation staff, and oversee budgeting.
- Oversee third-party vendor procurement, enhance program policies, and identify new opportunities using data.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Regulatory experience in financial services and an advanced degree in adult education or related field preferred.
- 15+ years managing adult education, credentialing, or financial supervision programs.
- Expertise in certification design, maintenance, and security for examiner programs.
- Familiarity with educational technologies and online program delivery.
- Strong planning, management, collaboration, and financial management skills.
- Proven ability to supervise diverse teams and meet financial targets.
- Excellent written communication, research, public speaking, and group facilitation skills.
- Proficient in productivity and project management software.
- Ability to foster an inclusive, collaborative team environment.
- Manage conflicts of interest and ensure confidentiality per policies.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
In addition to a highly competitive salary range of $170,000–$230,000 (DOE), this full-time, hybrid position comes with a robust benefits package designed to foster a positive work culture and support work-life balance.
