Scion Nonprofit is seeking a visionary Educational Programming Director for our fantastic client, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing conservation initiatives and sharing discoveries through innovative media. A prominent philanthropic organization supports our client’s initiative and collaborates with leading media, science, and philanthropy partners.

This incredible full-time, hybrid opportunity is based in Singapore.

We seek candidates with educational programs, residency and/or fellowship leadership experience, and startup experience in a rapidly scaling environment. company. This director will have the ability to be hands-on while growing/managing a small team and will have very strong communication skills. Ideally, you’ll have worked on sustainability, climate, oceanic/maritime, or sciences programs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Strategic Planning:

  • Partner with the Regional Director to align long-term strategies for educator and student programs with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop long-term strategies for educational initiatives.
Team Leadership:
  • Promote a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Lead and support a team of program coordinators and staff.
Program Development and Management:
  • Oversee curricula and training, focusing on practical science and media experiences.
  • Develop and manage a cutting-edge residency program.
  • Collaborate with education teams to ensure educational programming leverages other work in the organization, including projects in public programming, digital programming, marine science, and the media
  • Design and implement educational programs for diverse audiences.
  • Oversee management of innovative media and science curricula and skills training for university undergraduate and graduate students for use during the residency program, other experiential programs, and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
  • Program evaluations via assessments, feedback, data analysis, etc., to improve outcomes.
  • Recruiting, identifying, and orienting new fellows into the program.
Resource Development:
  • Efficiently manage program budgets.
  • Collaborate with the partnerships team to identify funding opportunities and prepare grant proposals.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage a team of staff and coordinators in fostering a collaborative team environment to achieve program objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Represent the organization at conferences and events.
  • Build partnerships with governments, educators, and community organizations.
Resource Development:
  • Efficiently manage program budgets.
  • Collaborate with the partnerships team to identify funding opportunities and prepare grant proposals.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in education, communications, environmental science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in educational program management and/or as a residency program director, fellowship director, or similar role, ideally in Oceanic/Maritime education.
  • Solid knowledge of accreditation standards and regulations in the APAC region.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills. 
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans. 
  • Commitment to environmental conservation and education. 
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work occasional evenings or weekends.
