Scion Nonprofit Staffing is conducting a search for a Grants Associate for our client, a foundation focused on uplifting and supporting the Jewish Community. This is a full-time, temporary role, hybrid role located in Los Angeles, CA. This role could turn into permanent.

**Thursdays are mandatory in the office with a total of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. **

Reporting to the Grants Manager and working alongside another Grants Associate, you will be processing grants and assisting current donors with any questions. Data-entry processing includes about 100 grants a week for over 1300 donors.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the entire grant recommendation process, from submission to disbursement, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in tasks such as preparing and coding grants, data entry, research, and due diligence, as well as generating award letters, mailing grants, and maintaining records.
  • Ensure all grants adhere to IRS charitable giving regulations and Foundation-specific guidelines.
  • Conduct research and gather necessary documentation from grantees and external sources.
  • Address any incomplete or missing information by following up with charities or donors and manage special or unique situations with appropriate care.
  • Handle all confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Identify and propose improvements to enhance the grant-making process.
  • Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with peers, management, and other departments.
  • Utilize a variety of software platforms to support the full grant lifecycle, including assisting program staff with creating and updating database records, tracking workflow, preparing check backups, and generating correspondence such as award and decline letters.
  • Aid program staff in the preparation and distribution of grant agreements, amendments, and the review of requests for deadline extensions and other grant-related updates.
  • Communicate with grantees and Foundation accounting staff to ensure the proper and timely resolution of audit or check replacement requests.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-2 years of donor/grants processing within a nonprofit is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional data entry skills.
  • 1-2 years of Administrative Support with a client or customer service focus.
  • 1-2 years of Donor Database experience such as Raiser’s Edge, DonorPerfect, or GrantedGE.
  • Strong Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
  • Successful remote work experience required.

 
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The hourly rate range for this role is between $29-$31hr. You will also be able to receive benefits through Scion Staffing upon eligibility! Benefits include medical, dental, vision, voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week. An employee retirement plan is also available.
