Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Nonprofit Human Resources Coordinator on behalf of our client, an established social justice organization that is on a mission to maintain and uplift communities in Oakland, CA! This is a wonderful, full-time, Oakland-based remote, direct-hire opportunity with a dedicated, mission-driven, and experienced team!
The Nonprofit Human Resources Coordinator will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in HR systems and processes. They bring a strong understanding of HR functions, thrive in a team environment, and are passionate about supporting people and culture initiatives.

Locally remote to Oakland, CA with the ability to only go into the office 3-4 times a month!
Full-time work hours from 9:00 – 5:30 and a M-F schedule!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the onboarding process, including requisitions, self-onboarding, employment agreements, and welcome communications.
Coordinate with IT to ensure new hires have appropriate systems access.
Administer learning programs via Paycom in collaboration with leadership.
Assist in developing training and professional development materials.
Oversee benefits enrollment and administration, including CalSavers.
Act as the liaison with brokers to address benefit-related concerns.
Maintain HR documents, checklists, and policies.
Review incoming mail and process relevant documents
Manage offboarding tasks, including final pay, exit interviews, and equipment recovery.
Oversee HR systems and vendor relationships.
Manage team logistics, such as meeting agendas, shoutouts, and internal newsletters.
Handle workers' compensation claims, EDD claims, and related reporting.
Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HR laws and regulations.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
