Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Corporate Relations & Development Manager on behalf of our client, an organization providing life-enriching experiences for children with serious medical conditions, offering support and joy during difficult times. This is a hybrid, contract opportunity based in Oakland, CA, with the potential to turn into an amazing permanent position for the right candidate!
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute annual corporate giving plans focused on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding key corporate partnerships to meet yearly revenue and activity goals.
- Identify and prospect new corporate partners.
- Manage a portfolio of 80+ corporate donors through all stages of the donor cycle, from identification to solicitation and stewardship.
- Create and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to potential corporate partners; negotiate and close agreements.
- Manage the full cycle of corporate grants, including application, submission, reporting, and stewardship.
- Maintain accurate records of partnership opportunities using Salesforce, ensuring timely reporting and donor information updates.
- Grow workplace giving programs and corporate matching gift initiatives.
- Collaborate across departments to recognize and steward corporate partners.
- Lead efforts to secure sponsorships for key company events, including Galas and Walks.
- Support event fulfillment, working closely with event teams as needed.
- Prospect and engage new corporate sponsors for various company events.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward existing corporate sponsors.
- Assist with sponsorship fulfillment in coordination with the events team.
- Identify potential workplace giving prospects and support corporate partners and donors in developing workplace giving programs.
- Manage a small portfolio of individual donors and prospects.
- Provide support for advisory councils and board committees as needed.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of corporate philanthropy, sponsorship, and development; sales experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in face-to-face solicitation, ideally in development or a similar field.
- Proven experience closing corporate gifts or deals ranging from 5-6 figures.
- Professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills, both in person and over the phone.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills; experience with Salesforce preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Interest in community service and nonprofit work.
- The ideal candidate is well-organized, meets deadlines, has excellent follow-through, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Compensation:
This position offers an hourly pay rate of $40-42/hr, a monthly technology stipend, medical, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week. An employee retirement plan is also available.
