Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Accounting Assistant for our client, a Sacramento, CA -based nonprofit organization that focuses on providing assistance to rural communities in the western United States. This nonprofit takes great pride in working on various community and economic development projects in rural areas! This is a hybrid, full-time, contract to hire opportunity! RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide administrative support and conduct research for the finance team, including specialized recordkeeping, data entry, scheduling, meeting support, and information gathering for projects.
Demonstrate knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
Prepare and process journal entries, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Utilize planning and scheduling techniques effectively.
Provide administrative support and oversee research activities for the finance team.
Manage specialized recordkeeping and database management tasks.
Perform data entry efficiently.
Coordinate scheduling and provide meeting support.
Gather specified information for projects and tasks.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of experience in an administrative role supporting a finance or accounting team.
Possess basic understanding of accounting principles and processes.
Previous general ledger experience, along with knowledge about debit and credit accounts.
Work with precision, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and adaptable to learning new software tools such as SharePoint and RCAC's web-based reporting software, as well as Adobe Acrobat.
Exhibit strong organizational and coordination skills.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS In addition to working for an organization with a phenomenal mission and positive team-oriented work environment. The rate for this role is $29.00/hr DOE, along with medical, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week. An employee retirement plan is also available.
