Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Interim Human Resources Director for immediate hire for our client, a federally recognized community located in the Pacific Northwest, celebrated for its diverse cultural traditions, community-oriented projects, and dedication to advancing autonomy and rights. This is a Full-Time, 4-5 Month Contract opportunity working onsite in Longview, WA!

As the Interim Human Resources Director, you will report to the Manager and supervise a team of 7 human resources professionals. You will utilize your comprehensive human resources knowledge and leadership skills to support the success of the organization!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Orchestrate strategic planning for all HR functions encompassing staffing, compensation, performance evaluation, and policy development.
  • Enhance staff efficiency by formulating and executing a comprehensive recruitment and retention strategy, overseeing staff meetings to foster communication, and contributing to HR program effectiveness.
  • Manage financial goals, pursue grant funding, and provide leadership and guidance to the management team while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Direct investigations, risk management, and safety programs, collaborate with Public Safety, and oversee pandemic and disaster recovery planning.
  • Administer employee relations, facilitates various HR processes, ensure compliance, and develop competitive recruitment and benefit programs.
  • Oversee employee record keeping, policy administration, compensation, and benefit administration, and represents the Tribe to external entities.
  • Facilitate employee training, payroll processing, and maintain awareness of HR trends, while fostering professional development and contributing to team efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years Human Resources experience   
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • SHRM or HRCI is a plus!
  • Nonprofit experience is a plus!
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
