Scion Nonprofit Staffing, is searching for a Gifts Officer on behalf of our partner, a nonprofit organization committed to the conservation and sustainable management of forest lands in the Pacific Northwest and California! This is a wonderful direct hire position offering a full-time opportunity to join a mission driven team!

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Create and drive the organization’s overall strategy and execution of major and planned gifts.
  • Manage regional leadership gifts staff and corresponding regional fundraising strategies.
  • Utilize prospect research platforms to create prospect pipelines of individuals and corporations.
  • Write proposals for major donors and corporations.
  • Set annual goals for each major gifts officer and manage progress towards goals on a weekly basis and offer training and assistance where needed.
  • Work with Chief Development Officer and development team to implement effective fundraising strategies for attaining fundraising goals.
  • Plan and execute prospect solicitation strategy through regular travel (up to 30% of time)
  • Develop and coordinate fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Manage budget, analysis, and forecasting for Major Gifts.
  • Develop new individual and corporate funder relationships.
  • Develop and manage a planned gift strategy.
  • Ensure data management and entry is done by all leadership gifts staff for their donors, including notes from meetings, emails, asks, proposals and moves management plans.
  • Work closely with Director of Institutional Gifts and Director of Individual Gifts to ensure coordination and efficacy of campaigns.
  • All other duties as assigned.
 
 QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in major gifts and planned giving, preferably in the environmental or conservation spaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to personally solicit major gifts from identification to cultivation to solicitation to stewardship.
  • Ability to travel as necessary (up to 30%)
  • Experience with Monday.com and Blackbaud or similar systems preferred.
  • Display exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Maintain a positive and energetic attitude towards work and a commitment to the organization's mission.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective interactions with colleagues and donors.
 
COMPENSATION: 
In addition to working for an organization with a phenomenal mission and positive team-oriented work environment, this position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000-95,000 DOE in additional to comprehensive benefits!
