Scion Nonprofit Staffing, an award-winning full-service staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Director of Development for our client an esteemed organization committed to offering assistance, care, and knowledge to individuals impacted by Alzheimer's disease. The full-time on-site opportunity in NYC is available immediately.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Working closely with the CEO and Board of Directors, the Director of Development will coordinate fundraising initiatives for the organization, emphasizing the diversification of funding channels and the attainment of financial objectives. Heading the development department, they oversee the planning, execution, and assessment of various development campaigns. The Director of Development will play a pivotal role in steering the management, expansion, and diversification of a comprehensive and successful fundraising program. As a crucial member of the leadership team, they play a vital role in shaping the overall strategic direction of this remarkable organization, positively impacting the lives of many in the process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Formulate a strategic fundraising plan in line with organizational priorities, establishing precise goals and indicators.
  • Work closely with the board and CEO to implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aimed at achieving long-term budgeted goals.
  • Direct the exploration, identification, nurturing, and request for revenue from a range of sources, including individuals, corporations, private foundations, and community partners.
  • Manage donor relationships (individuals and corporations) for retention, higher giving tiers, and increased overall contributions.
  • Foster and sustain connections with board members, public and private partners, as well as other crucial stakeholders.
  • Oversee all giving programs, taking charge of fundraising events, individual giving campaigns, and annual fundraising drives.
  • Collaborate with marketing and media relations to communicate with supporters, donors, and community partners through press releases, print materials, and social media alerts.
  • Plan and execute outreach strategies in addition to leading digital platform messaging through social media, email marketing campaigns, and the website.
  • Direct and supervise the development strategy, establishing annual fundraising objectives by devising campaigns, implementing systems for donation data, and applying best practices for the team.
  • Supervise every facet of donor acknowledgment, ensuring that all donors receive exceptional levels of customer service.
  • Create metrics and reports to facilitate monitoring of fundraising progress for both staff and the board.
  • Creation of annual report and fundraising content for the year
  • Provide oversight to staff and foster their professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree required with at least seven years of progressive experience in professional development/fundraising roles.
  • A track record of successfully securing various revenue sources with a proven ability to oversee a range of development strategies.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, facilitating the cultivation and advancement of relationships with a diverse community, including donors, prospects, colleagues, volunteers, partners, and community members.
  • Proven leadership skills in fostering collaboration and successfully directing teams.
  • Demonstrated management expertise, encompassing goal setting, project organization, budget management, and accountability processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying ideas with enthusiasm to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in data management with confidence, including expertise in processes and procedures for handling all types and designations of giving.
  • Proficient in fundraising software and possessing exceptional organizational skills.
  • Preferred familiarity with IRS rules impacting philanthropy.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
In addition to a competitive salary of $130,000-$175,000 this opportunity offers a generous time-off package and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and short- and long-term disability insurance, as well as flexible spending accounts, a 401(k)-retirement savings plan, and an employee’s assistance program.
