Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Nonprofit Administrative Assistant on behalf of our partner, a prominent global environmental organization in Washington, D.C. This temp-to-hire, hybrid role offers the opportunity to support a dynamic team working on innovative and impactful initiatives within the field.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting senior leadership in a professional setting, with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and communicate with precision. A successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented, proactive, and able to collaborate efficiently with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Manage calendars, coordinate travel arrangements, and schedule meetings for senior leaders

Oversee and organize activities for executive committees and other key governance bodies, ensuring seamless operations

Draft, proofread, and edit communications while managing invoice processing and related administrative tasks

Maintain and update organizational databases, generating reports as needed for leadership and committee use

Assist in compiling, distributing, and organizing materials for executive and committee meetings

Serve as a key liaison for committee members, facilitating participation and supporting engagement initiatives

Work closely with internal teams on strategic projects and contribute to organization-wide initiatives

Take on additional responsibilities as assigned, gaining a deep understanding of organizational programs and content
QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience supporting executive leadership in a professional environment

Exceptional attention to detail with strong typing, proofreading, and editing skills

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks or projects effectively

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with various teams

Highly proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience with mail merges, document formatting, and creating professional presentations

Knowledge of database systems such as netFORUM is a plus

Experience in a nonprofit or member-driven organization is highly desirable
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This temp-to-hire, hybrid opportunity in Washington, D.C., offers an hourly rate of $19/hr. Additionally, this role includes:
