Scion Nonprofit Staffing, Inc. (www.scionnonprofitstaffing.com), a full-service national staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct a search for a Senior Director of Talent Management & Culture for our client, a well-known nonprofit organization championing animal welfare in Washington, DC. This is an amazing and impactful opportunity for a senior nonprofit professional longing to serve as a resource for diversity, equity and inclusion, human resources, and talent management processes, bringing expertise and fluency in these areas to our amazing client!
 
This unique role requires a combination of skills grounded in employee relations, strategic communication, human resources, and talent management, in addition to fluency in diversity, equity and inclusion concepts and practices. Ideal candidates will be natural problem-solvers in the workplace and will be able to engage comfortably with all staff and hiring managers.
 
The Senior Director of Talent Management & Culture will be tasked with identifying and developing the skills of staff needed to engage, motivate, and develop employees on an ongoing basis.
 
What you’ll be doing in this exciting role:
-Designing training curriculum focused on leadership development, compliance, and inclusive culture
-Working with staff to assess their individual professional development needs throughout their employment cycle
-Serving as a proactive advocate for ethical, compliance and integrity requirements by presenting and implementing fair, creative and effective solutions to challenging workplace issues
-Maximizing diversity outreach by training hiring managers on recruiting policies and procedures
-Ensuring that all recruitment efforts and processes are demonstrably inclusive and unbiased
-Developing new strategies and programs to attract high quality candidates
-Working closely with hiring managers to share best practices and aid on critical needs
-Acting as an integral agent to drive cultural change, which supports talent acquisition initiatives
-Working with the Finance department to maintain the Talent Management budget
 
What you can bring to the opportunity and organization:
- A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in human resources, business or equivalent work experience required
- SHRM-SP, PHR, CPLP, and/or APTD certification preferred
- A strong passion and genuine interest in animal advocacy and protection!
- A passionate commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, including but not limited to race, gender and social class
- Keen project management skills; ability to drive simultaneous, complex projects to measurable success while aligning with organizational strategy
- Impeccable oral and written communication skills coupled with the experience of managing and carrying out strategic communication
- You are always proactive, organized and value interpersonal professional relationships
- Proven experience and a strong desire to build relationships, network and collaborate effectively with ethnically/ culturally/ socio-economically diverse populations and community organizations
- Success developing employees through effective coaching, facilitation, and team building initiatives
- Demonstrated team management experience
 
Compensation & Benefits:
The ability to work for an organization with a phenomenal mission, positive team-oriented work environment and an annual salary of between $120,000 and $140,000 DOE plus robust benefits package!
