Scion Staffing has been engaged to lead the search for an experienced Sr. Staff Accountant with an established higher education consulting company based in California! This is a Remote, Diret-Hire opportunity offering a competitive pay rate, the flexibility of working remote, and the chance to make a positive impact within the education space.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Issue customer invoices, maintain A/R aging, collection and A/R related requests and correspondences
• Prepare and record journal entries by compiling and analyzing accounts and departments assigned during month end close
• Prepare balance sheet accounts reconciliation assigned and resolve any discrepancies
• Ensure ASC 606 customer contract compliance
• Maintain Fixed Asset schedule and perform quarterly inventory with IT department
• Assist in annual external audit by preparing assigned schedules and retrieving supporting documents
• Special projects and ad-hoc analysis assigned by Accounting Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree with focus in accounting and at least 3 years of work experience in accounting month-end close process
• Experience in accounting software
• Experience in account reconciliation and variance analysis
• Proficiency in accounting and spreadsheet software
• Proficiency in excel formulas (i.e. v-lookups and pivot)
• Experience in documenting journal entries in excel
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Comfortable working under minimum supervision

COMPENSATION:

This opportunity offers a competitive salary of $75k-80k DOE
