Scion Nonprofit is leading an exciting search for a Program Assistant on behalf of an impactful academic nonprofit in Chicago, IL! This is a long-term temporary opportunity offering a flexible work schedule. If you are looking for a meaningful opportunity to work with children and families then this is the opportunity for you!

Responsibilities of this position include:
  • Interact and provide service directly to students, families, and teachers.
  • Assist in day-to-day program operations as needed.
  • Attend all Summer Sessions spanning over six weeks.
  • Plan and collaborate with program team for summer and school year programming, which may include teacher recruitment and hiring, parent presentations, scheduling, ordering supplies and materials, and more.
  • Support program team in coordinating activities.
  • Manage student and parent data and information relevant to your assignment.
  • Oversee and support students' academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Maintain professional and high-quality relationships with partners during recruitment season.
  • Assist with recruitment seasons by managing online platforms and admission cycle systems and recruiting students through school and community presentations and by developing relationships with key contacts in youth organizations and schools.
  • Participate in selection and admission of students.
  • Work collaboratively with Program Managers at other sites and Chief Programs Officer to ensure quality programming for all students.
     
What you need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Should have a strong commitment to and experience working with students and passionate teachers.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills are required, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and handle high-pressure situations.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are necessary.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission and vision is essential.
  • Flexibility and dedication to collaboration are desired qualities.
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus.

Compensation:
This opportunity offers a starting pay rate of $28-$30 per hour, paid on a weekly basis plus flexible work schedule and benefits. Benefits include supplemental medical, dental and vision coverage during the assignment period!
